  1. This is so true, it has to be the most common case I see in my social surroundings. You have parents that break their back and sacrifice a lot to provide a comfortable life for their children, but don't really treat them with love or respect. Additionally, they feel entitled to their child's love because of how much they sacrificed for them, which is at the same time understandable and also very, very delusional. These people don't understand that no amount of suffering or logistics on their part can make you love them, that's just not how human emotions work.

  4. I will never understand political tribalism. My personal opinions include: - the rich need to be taxed out of existence, not a single person needs a billion dollars - stuff like "safe spaces" and "cultural appropriation" is the dumbest shit I've ever heard - healthcare should be free and universal - polygamy doesn't work for 99.9 percent of people and casual sex virtually doesn't exist - slaughtering animals is perfectly ethical as long as they are treated well while they're alive - vegetarians are rockstars Hope you got whiplash reading this cause it's all perfectly consistent with utilitarian axioms

  5. I think this simplistic view is too reductive to actually be useful. People's reason for bad behaviour is a huge indicator of whether that behaviour may change or not in the future. The same way good behaviour isn't just good behaviour, if someone is being excessively generous and nice to you for no reason, you know some shit is about to come. So bad behaviour =/= bad behaviour
