I’m gonna be the odd comment against the tide here, but dude the West would never have allowed Russia to join EU or have some kinda equal say in NATO or such sort. NATO after the end of the Cold War was looking for a new reason to exist and in comes the “War on terror” that turned into a shit show. The institutions, organizations, and governments need “enemies” to survive and make profits. They didn’t do anything for Russia in the 90s why would they change it? They hate competition in resources and interests. That’s how the world runs.
