They are not "giving" Iran a whole bunch of money! It's economic cooperation. Building infrastructure (ever heard of that in the US before?). Development and help to economically grow. Wikipedia: "Iran was the second Muslim-majority country to recognize Israel as a sovereign state after Turkey. After the 1953 coup d'état, which reinstalled the pro-Western leader Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as the Shah of Iran, relations between the two countries significantly improved." Casually ignoring the CIA removing our democratically elected prime minister who wrestled Iranian oil out of the hands of the British by nationalizing it, is an unexcusable omission of historical facts that are the basis of Iranian relations with the West specially the US and the UK!

He's clearly embittered by that and is unable to see the broader picture of how Iran arrived at the current point! He's analysis of Iran is school grade level and rather pathetic! The level that you should keep to yourself instead of speaking with the confidence of an expert! Professor Marandi is the guy to listen to for an in-depth understanding of Iran-US relations. Patrick doesn't even acknowledge any blame to the US, because he doesn't even mention what US has done to Iran since 75 years ago!

The ideals of America are absolutely wonderful and few people around the world would disagree, but the US government controlled by corporate interests and a militaristic empire that seeks to bend every country to its will and extract their resources is not the America anyone should idolize or support! The American government doesn't represent the people, so it is not a real democracy and they violate the constitution on a daily basis! How can Patrick be pointing finger at countries around the world that resist the US hegemony? Look at what US has done to Syria! Occupying 1/3 of the country extracting and selling its oil to go through Turkiye to Israel to fuel their planes to bomb Iranian consulate in Syria and preventing them from using their own natural resources to rebuild their country that was destroyed thanks to the US hegemonic neocon agenda!
