  1. It's not because of Marxism or socialism that Soviet Union and China are authoritarian governments. It's the nature the those revolutions with leaders who decided to set up their regimes as non-democratic systems. Look at Islamic Republic of Iran. Same story. When the revolution ends, when they're setting up a new regime, it's massively important that the people not let the leaders take the power away from them. The issue with social democracies is that the wealthy will dismantle the social spending over time and you end up with the USA! An oligarchy dressed as a democracy!
