For best food and general experience, find a friend in Iran and take their offer to have dinner at their house! Iranians are supremely hospitable and will shower you with love and amazing food! đâ¤

I suppose he meant in recent times! Youâll have to go to Nader Shah Afshar roughly 300 years ago for conquering general marching out of Iran! Zand dynasty kept peace with everyone except settling some border disputes with the expansionist Ottomans. Qatar dynasty lost a huge chunk of Iran to Russian empire, Afghanistan, ⌠Pahlavi didnât attack anyone, Islamic republic was defending Iran against Saddam Husseinâs aggression. So heâs right.

I support Galloway and Ritterâs feelings on this! We donât decide for Arabs, but we sure can let them know what we think of their situation as concerned people who care about their plight! đ¤ˇââď¸ Their governments have been absolutely horrendous on Palestine except for the poorest Arab nation of Yemen! They have not lifted a finger!

2:13 even the general had enough of the unqualified interpreter! This doesnât reflect well on the government as there are plenty of Iranians who can speak better English than this interpreter!

1:30 Iranian government needs to get better interpreters! The general said IRCG aerospace museum and the interpreter dropped IRCG! Itâs important as Iran has two parallel militaries! IRCG is the new one that was created after the revolution as a loyal military as the traditional military force was not trusted early on as many generals were considered loyalists to the monarchy pre 1979 Pahlavi family. Many escaped Iran and many were jailed or executed for their loyalty to the former king! IRCG gets the larger budget, has the license to go abroad and has the technological advantage as well has a hand in Iranian economy as well! Iranian military is mainly for defense of the homeland while IRCG has a broader mandate to do the cooperation and coordination that youâve seen among the Axis of resistance factions.

Great reporting Dimitri! đ

9:20 there are plenty of of 18-20 year old Iranian âmilitaryâ personnel hanging out in the parks across the country! Theyâre not armed. Theyâre conscripted young guy after their high school. They go through training and then have some time off and just leave their bases to relax. Most are from farther cities, so they canât go home in a day or a few hours, so they just hang out around the city theyâre stationed. The local conscripts would change to civilian clothes and go to their family homes on the weekends. These guys are not active, armed or assigned to do any duties.

2:00 at this point using a Google translate does a better job! The interpreter is already stumped two sentences in!

If the interpreter in unqualified, then both him and the people who employed him are deserving of heavy criticism! Itâs like entering an important negotiation and you have 20 words in your vocabulary! You canât properly communicate and misunderstandings are bound to happen! In these tense and important times, they better hire qualified people, not those nephew to do this important job!!

The Iranian official was talking about Iran, he didnât deem it necessary to get into âwhat aboutismâ! đ

31:17 I think thereâs a bit of mix up on why Hezbollah stopped fighting! Hezbollah has only 30% power in Lebanon politics! Theyâre not the government or ruling party and have to contend with Sunnis, Christians and Druze as other political forces and peoples. Islamic republic is in full control as Iranian government and Iran is 99% Muslim and 90% Shia Muslim. So, Iranian government is in full control of what happens next and doesnât have to 60-70% of the country not being onboard or sympathetic. So, Hezbollah wasnât defeated on the battlefield, but pressured politically by turning the other factions on them! And they certainly donât want a civil war on their back when they have Syria run by jihadis and Turkiye coming next door and Iran left far far away to assist them! Engaging Israel while you are surrounded by enemies at home and abroad is not a risk they were willing to take. They have to preserve their position in Lebanese politics strong.

Regarding visiting places to gauge the situation, you can leave northern Tehran which is the best place in Iran to go to southern Tehran where traditionally itâs the poorer neighborhoods. Northern tehran is cleaner and nicer than Athens. But the south might not be so impressive. If you leave the capital, provinces on the borders are the poorest or least developed by comparison and thereâs definitely a north-south divide in terms of development.

4:40 the interpreter is totally stumped! He doesnât know the word rationale and a few other words! He has a guilty look on his face! đ¤Śđť
