  2. Only people who don't understand phyics can come up with the idea that quantum mechanics has extra dimensions. That is not the case. There is a scientific hypothese called String theory, which indeed needs extra dimensions to make it work (6 or 7 extra dimensions) but these are compactified dimensions, smaller then a proton. And these extra dimensions can be compactified in 10^500 different ways. So srtring theory can not describe our reality in a unique way, and string theory makes no predictions that can be tested. So it has no bearing on our physical reality and is therefore probably wrong, or untestable. Mathematically, we can think of other numbers of space and time dimensions and check to see what the world would look like. But all these possibilities turn out to lead to unstable or hyperbolic configurations, and therefore can not possible model the real universe in which stable forms of matter (atoms, solar systems) exist. Remarkably, only a 3D space has knots, other dimensions do not. So it is a pure fiction to speak about those extra dimensions as if they could be a physical reality. Why even bother to bring such things up, there is nothing in the footage or observations themselves that urges us to jump to any conclusion. Just that people are not satisfied with an answer as "we do not know". The whole issue is a matter of observations. If the observations do not allow us to reach a conclusion, we can only try to improve our observations. And in many cases, the anomalous behaviour then disappears and can be brought down to some natural phenomena, we did not know about before. Jumping from conclusions at the basis of inconclusive evidence is in any case the wrong option. If something is UNKNOWN it can not be brought as proof for ANYTHING at all!! The scientific method simply does not work that way. But there are many people around that want to believe. Yes, our history shows that. We used to think that lightning and thunder were the work of unseen Gods, and we have sacrificed thousands of people to honour the Gods. Do we want to repeat that? Like spending billions of dollars in defense budgets just to counter the fictious alien threat or something? The chances that observations by people that saw something unusual were realy aliens is many times smaller then the chance that these people just alienated themselves and saw things that were not there or have normal natural explenations. For extra ordinary claims about alien spacecrafts, you need extra ordinary proof, and not just some pixels on radar screens or in lenses, they could be anything, and would simply disappear if better image resolutions were possible.
