There is no strict definition of how democracy should be implemented, only that the system should reflect a form of government in which the will of the people is being respected and forms the basis of government decissions. Western forms of democracy suffer from the fact that the real power is in the hands of the owners of the means of production (the capitalist class) and that governments don't have enough power to enforce the will of the people on the capitalist classes, in fact the capitalist class have a lot of (undemocratic) power, solely on the basis of their economic power.

How would you get that gas to europe?

Europe needs Nordstream 2. There is not enough LNG capacity and the price is 3x that of russian pipeline gas. Why does europe needs to shoot herself in the foot for US interests?

The mainline western propaganda is that they want western/liberal oriented leaders to take over Russia in order to grab all the resources Russia holds, despite the fact that in regular elections candidates with a pro-western/pro-liberal agenda do not have popular support. Still, western media portrays these candidates as 'opposition leaders', neglecting the fact that the second largest politcal group in Russia is the communist party. Which the western media of course does not support and keep silence about the real political spectrum inside Russia.

Let us say that Russia can righfully claim that it fulfills its obligation to protect the russian people in Donbass, it is Responsibility to Protect (R2P). NATO also (mis) used that principle to defend the Libyan rebels against Khadaffi (and misused the UN mandate for regime change) and destroyed Libya. The UN mandate was acquired based on false reports of human rights violations, as was clear after real investigations were done.

The Ukrain gas problem is inherited from the Soviet Union, because gasprices during that time were significantly below world market prices. As a consequence energy efficiency was not a big issue. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union however, gasprices were gradually increased to world market prices. The Ukrain oligarchs managing the energy sector however did not make measures to increase the efficiency of gas usage, but instead pocketed the gas profits themselves, and as a consequence Ukrain now runs into gas shortages. Why doesn't the EU adress the real problem and invest money in increasing energy efficiency so that Ukrain needs less gas deliveries and can pay for the gas they use, and bypass the Ukrain oligarch regime that have mismanaged their energy sector? If Ukrain needs less gas for domestic use, the gas they no longer need can be sent to Germany/Europe and be sold for a much larger price, which in turn can pay back the energy investment to safe on gas usage. Problem solved!

And also you need gas fired turbines to balance out the energy requirements (demand/supply balance), which you can't do with neither coal nor nuclear, only hydropower and gas can fix the energy balance.

The EU is an idiocracy, they are nuts by supporting the ukrain regime, which effectively caused the whole gas crisis, and not supplying europe with cheap russian gas flowing though nordstream 2.

Of course, all part of the same masterplan, cut of the main transit route for russian gas to europe by regime change in Kiev and block any alternartive pipeline route from russia to europe, and topple Assad to bring Qatar gas in by pipeline. It's the geostrategy of the petro-dollar, visible everywhere on the globe since decades for those who followed it closely.
