  1. The real problem is that the housing industry is based on private investments and the majority of chinese people belief that investing in housing is a safe investment. That is what created this bubble. They should have instead have a housing program under government control, social housing, building only the houses of the right type, size and at the right location that people actually want to live, based on the real needs of people and what they can afford to pay for rent or property. It would prevent buildings from staying empty/vacated and the loss of investment that comes with it. So the problem is that China uses free market investments in a capitalist model to provide for the basic needs of their people.
