  1. If Stanford insists on doing this, they should have done a REALLY good job; ie. even in the UAE, they came up with the term "people of determination" as a substitute for handicapped. It actually elevates the person it applies to and suggests that they have to put forth more effort to accomplish what the rest of us take for granted. Stanford's alternatives miss the mark and are not necessarily making anyone feel better.. It was, however, an excuse to form committees and empower a few to decide how the many should converse, and all of it while being handsomely compensated. They have too much time on their hands and nothing more important to do..
