I love the fact that his new owners chose to ADOPT from a shelter instead of going to a breeder, AND that they were willing to help a cat who desperately needs to lose weight for the sake of his health.

@sallys2423 I know. I have only ever had cats that showed up on my door step. Some were friendly some weren't (in the beginning) but they have all been treasures. Unfortunately there are people who want breeds in cats, just like some dog owners. Maine Coons, Sphynxes, Ragdolls, Siamese, Savannahs, Bengals, Persians, etc sell for a lot and many have inbred health problems. The best veterinarian I have ever had for my cats is retired now but he was exclusively a feline practitioner and he turned away breeders and people who show cats because he didn't want any part of that culture or the health problems that come with pure bred animals and adding to the overpopulation problem. For me, it will always be ADOPT DON'T SHOP.
