@xgreasexmonkey5506 It only passed because it is a windfall for corporate vendors. The sidewalk in my hometown installed by the WPA in the 1940's are still in top condition; later installments by for-profit contractors are pitted and crumbling. There should have been an emphasis on jobs and quality control in the Infrastructure bill instead of profits for private contractors.

This is just the current administration dangling a small carrot in front of the voting public when their poll numbers are down during election season. They could have done this from the start of their term. Expect more of these small favors in the next six months, which will be rolled back regardless of which of the two duopoly candidates may win, because both parties are controlled by corporate interests. We need the one candidate who will get to the root of the problem by unraveling the corporate capture of the government agencies who are supposed to be serving US. BTW, that candidate is RFK Jr.

I agree. It is just the current administration dangling a carrot in front of one segment of the voting public; air travelers. They could have done this at the beginning of their term but waited until election season when their poll numbers are dismal to have some small concession to offer voters. Expect more of these showy but shallow acts leading up to the election. We need someone who will get to the root of corporate control of our government agencies that are supposed to be watching out for the public's interest. RFK Jr is the only candidate committed to unraveling the corporate capture of these agencies and investing in our own infrastructure instead of the forever wars that are draining the public coffers.
