You said it. Shareholders getting into the mix is the problem. There needs to be a competitor to Etsy that is employee owned and focused on making sellers and buyers happy instead of shareholders. It would be like cutting out the middleman. The activist sellers in this video need to consult with someone like Professor Richard Wolff to set up an alternative to Etsy that is not owned by shareholdeers.

My brother-in-law has also captained the A380 for EK for years. Before watching this video I never really thought about what it must be like to actually fly a plane that large, with such enormous wing span etc. I've always flown the 777 to Dubai but I saw the A380's at the airport; still, it didn't get me thinking as much as this video did. This just came up as a suggested video because I was watching the U.S. Senate hearings (I'm American) with the Boeing whistleblowers testifying about the horrible safety culture at Boeing. My relative was in the last group of A380 pilots to be laid off by Emirates when the pandemic hit.. I was stranded in Dubai at the time because of it and I remember him saying the 380's would never fly again because of the speculation back then that the world was going to be in a perpetual pandemic state. He was still a few years away from retirement then. Needless to say, they were relieved to get called back. He'll probably fly as long as his age allows because my sister loves living in Dubai. It really is sad to think of such an engineering marvel being discontinued.

Emirates is in a class by itself. Very true that their economy section never feels cheap, even on the 777's. It's actually more equivalent on what you would get in first class on an American airliner considering the seat and legroom, choice of gourmet meals and unlimited drinks and snacks, entertainment systems and other creature comforts where American airlines fail.

@misham6547 Excuse me? My brother in-law has captained the A-380 for over a decade with a flawless flying record, no incidents of any kind ever. He started with US Air and flew for United and British Airways before joining Emirates. Emirates skims the cream of the crop off other airlines from around the world to fly their fleet; they are the absolute best pilots you can find anywhere. Do you really think an airline would trust a $450 million plane to anyone who does not have a whole lot of proven experience? Also, they regularly have to do simulator sessions to prove they are at the top of their game.

@bagussriyono874 Taking any company public automatically changes its mission to one of MAXIMIZING shareholder wealth above else. The artist sellers who do the actual work and the buyers who want to buy truly handcrafted items don't matter to greedy shareholders. If shareholders want to "invest" in the handmade martketplace they should try coming up with the creative ideas themselves and bringing them to fruition instead of skimming off of other people's talent and hard work.

The problem is that it is run for shareholders, not the buyers or the sellers. If it were a worker co-op this would not have happened. There needs to be a worker co-op competitor to Etsy where sellers can sell and buyers can buy what they really want without having greedy shareholders making money off the transactions.

The foremost protector of our environment for the last 40+ years has been RFK Jr. Plastics come from oil, an industry that controls BOTH sides of the duopoly. We need independent leadership that will hold corporations accountable and make our government agencies work for We The People. Vote KENNEDY 2024 & 2028
