Next, in order for that rich person to keep being rich they need to serve the people. My company invests me in. They pay me to work for their company. I am an investment because I help them earn a profit. Without my company I won't have a job or I will be working someplace else. Yes, the CEO in the end is making more than me, but without him many people will not have a job. Or take Jeff Bezos. Yes, he is rich. Yes, he benefited from his investment. But his company in Amazon made shopping easier for people. You can get many things without leaving your home. That saves you time and money. So his investment helped out people like you and me.

The best route is to keep as many programs a local as possible as tax dollars are spent more efficiently and in a way the people can see if it benefits them. As for damns, you are talking about concrete and steel which the price of those items vary and expensive to begin with. They will take time to pay off. Take a parking garage. They cost $30,000 a parking space and have a 80 year payoff. As for why they don't build their own roads and bridges. If none existed these are the type of people that will.

It matters because when people start throwing around 2 cent phrases and talking points like "trickle down economics" it shows they do not know what they are talking about. The phrase was created to Will Rogers who was an actor and social commentator, not an economist.

People say these phrases as if it is something bad. But when you start breaking it down you find out it is more complex. To me it adds nothing to the conversation and does more harm than good.

  48.  @MultiBlackmind  again, you are oversimplifying it. To start, you are assuming there is a finite amount of goods and services in this nation, like one pie. There isn't. Next, you feel that a rich person takes those limited resources only for themselves, they don't. A rich person will invest creating something people want and are willing to buy. If people want pie the rich person will make more pies for people. And while he may make 5 pies for himself, everyone else gets a pie as opposed to only 2 pieces for everyone else. An example, Jeff Bezos is rich. He became rich by making shopping easier for people. I can buy almost anything I want without leaving my home. That saves me time and money. Bezos became rich by making people's lives easier.
