The economy only collapsed because democrats shut it down. Unemployment was high because democrats shut down businesses. The death toll was not high. Democrats had a plan, use covid as a trap to beat Trump. If Trump would have done a federal lockdown and federal mask mandates people on the left would have quickly thrown down their masks and call him a fascist. And there was no insurrection.

What could have Trump done differently during covid? He could have done federal mandates and you guys would have called him a fascist. It was a trap come day one. Just like when he did one thing he did have the authority to do, a travel ban from China, he was called a racist. Democrats shut down the government and created chaos in their states leading to tp shortages. And with covid tests, it was on the states to roll them out, so blame those governors. You guys call Trump a fascist when he did all he could do during covid, let the states handle it and do a travel ban. The federal government cannot dictate state law. And if Trump tried a federal mandate like federal lockdowns and mask mandates, you guys would have thrown down your masks and call him a fascist.

Most people like Trump's policies and what was happening under him such as a stronger economy and a more peaceful world. What they hated was his rhetoric. That is a big reason why so many voted against him, they felt Biden would be like your grandpa, peaceful with no drama. Problem is people now see a bad economy, more wars, and Biden being a complete prick that can hardly speak.

@barrywassel3899 Putin did not invade Ukraine under Trump, he did under Biden. Trump was working with Putin to try to get him more involved in the western world as the younger generation did not hold the communist views like the older ones did. NATO and people like Biden weren't having it. Biden becomes president where he is buddy with the Ukraine government which is a threat to Putin. So of course Putin invades Ukraine. Trump, like he did with the Abraham Accord, was looking for peace with Russia and to make changes. Putin is a smart guy and knows there is a culture change in Russia. He also knows Biden being president made Ukraine a threat to Russia.

What did you want Trump to do? If he created some federal mandate across all 50 states you guys would have called him a fascist. That was the goal of covid all along. If Trump did federal mandates democrats would have called him a fascist. Just like how they called him a racist when he did a travel ban from China as foreign affairs is really all Trump could have done at that point. The fact is Trump is not a fascist. He could have pushed some federal mandate such as lockdowns, or ending lockdowns. He did not as he did not have the authority. So instead democrats kept lockdowns going through 2020. The covid deaths were inflated. Jobs were lost because democrat governors kept the lockdowns going and then turned around and blame Trump. Just like everything else with the liberal elites it was a no win situation with him.

@cherylleclerc5642 to start, almost all who died from covid would have died in the same timeframe anyways. Something like 40% of the deaths are nursing home patients. According to a 2010 UCSF report, 65% of new nursing home patients die within a year. So right away you have 40% of the death toll being of people who were of high risk of dying to begin with. Next, people on the left have swept covid under the rug. We have actual real world data to look at what happens if we shut down schools, businesses, the economy, etc. What happens to people's mental health and relationships and our society. We can take that and have a baseline on what to do if an actual deadly virus hits. Instead those that push the covid restrictions do not want that is it shows how wrong they were. Or not so much wrong as their excuse is that "we did not know". But they were not willing to have a discussion to begin with. They want it swept under the rug. The whole thing was a trap to beat Trump. While an evil idea it was clever.

Pakman is wrong again. Wages were growing faster, if you include inflation, under Trump. Wages are lower under Biden. We did not have a supply problem under Trump, we do under Biden.

@christopherweise438 that was not Trump's fault. He wanted the economy to reopen but democrats and other nations refused to spite Trump. It is not Trump's fault that the global elites hated him because Trump cared about the average people as opposed to making money for nothing. Also, another thing causing supply chain issues are the wars.

In fact, wage growth, according to the Atlanta Federal Reserve, is now dropping and have been the past few months. It only went up under Biden because many people went from making zero to making a wage when businesses were allowed to reopen and rehire. So real wages are lower under Biden. Another indicator of a strong economy under Trump, according to FRED, from 2004 to 2016 homeownership rate dropped around 6%. Under Trump it grew around 5%. Under Biden it has remained stagnant after a drop in 2021. Point being people were able to afford homes under Trump because the economy was so good (low interest rates, higher wages). " Lack of health and medical care equipment at the start of the pandemic causing heakthcare workers to reuse and ration masks and other equipment. " That is actually normal. In 2017 there was a California hospital that had to make temporary ICU rooms from tents due to overran hospitals. That is why when Covid hit hospitals were able to build more ICU rooms, they have been doing it for years. In fact, a CEO in a TX hospital said hospitals are constantly running at over 90% capacity and they can build more if needed. It is how they make money. We just never talked about it until it became necessary to shut down the economy. "No toilet paper, sanitizers. There were distribution problems with the vaccines and major ports were constantly backed up under Trump." Not true. It was not Trump's fault democrats shut down the economy. Also, governors were told to distribute the vaccine as the federal government has no authority to do it (even though fascist Biden tried to override congress). Republican governors like DeSantis did great. Cuomo ordered infected patients back in nursing homes. Inflation was at an all time high, it had no where to go but down. And it went down due to increases in interest rates by the Fed (again, preventing people from buying homes and harming those in debt). And inflation went up again this past month. And the supply chain is still terrible. I am experiencing it in my company where we, and our competitors cannot get certain items due to the war. We had to raise our prices starting this year. It is why prices are still going up. So how am I wrong? Face it, things were better under Trump. That is why democrats can't run on their record or run challenging Trump's record. All they can say is "Trump is a fascist". If things are so good, why not run on that?

@christopherweise438 people die all the time, we never shut down for those deaths. Why not care about the 40,000 who die a year in traffic accidents? Why not ban driving? Here is the fact based on reliable stats such as death rate and survival probability as a function of age. Death rate of nursing home patients prior to covid, and the fact that average person dying with covid had 1.5 co-morbidities. Almost all who died during that time would have been dead anyways. Also add in the argument that people's health was poorer and their immune systems were weaker due to not being able to go to the gym or park and alcohol usage spiked due to gyms being shut down but liquor stores were "essential".

While the elites like Pelosi were showing off her freezer full of ice cream people could not get food. The elites did not suffer during covid. They still sent their kids to private schools. They still got a nice paycheck. But sure, shut down the economy and destroy people's lives so grandma might live another 3 weeks.

To start, why weren't businesses jacking up prices under Trump? Next, here is the reality. Say you have a company and you have 10 sandwiches and 20 people want them. You can hire more people to make more sandwiches. But instead no one is working and the government is giving them money. So now you have to raise prices as the number of sandwiches you have is the same but everyone now has more money.

He compared a small kitchen fire to the Maui fire where hundreds died and many lost their homes.

@noway1844 you can't just freak out at the very beginning. If you do that we will be having constant lockdowns left and right as new diseases pop up all the time. The reality is that covid was a trap to beat Trump. No matter what Trump did the democrats and liberal elites were going to criticize him for it. Just like they called him a racist for the China travel ban. If he would have done federal mandates like a federal lockdown or a federal mask mandates you guys would have been calling him a fascist. Really, with hindsight, Trump in fall of 2020 should have pushed for a federal mask mandate. If he would have done that democrats would have quickly changed their stance on masks in which Trump should have then quickly turned around and said it was up to the states. It would have completely confused people when democrats are saying take off the masks and then a week later saying to put it back on.

@breeeegs Trump created a travel ban from China and was called a racist. He offered a navy ship to NY to be used as more hospital beds. He introduced us to Fauci. Trump did care. The issue was it became clear that Fauci cared more about being a celebrity and getting back at Trump; since Trump was a threat to worthless bureaucrats like Fauci, as opposed to doing his job. And democrats kept the lockdowns going through the summer and fall of 2020 even though it was clear by May of 2020 it was not that dangerous.

@breeeegs almost all during that time frame who died with covid would have died anyways based on many statistics like survival probability as a function of age and death rate as a function of age. And same when you look at the death rate of nursing home patients prior to covid and during it. There is also the argument that issues like being less healthy due to gyms being closed, and spike in alcohol consumption caused a lot of harm as well. But yeah, follow the "science" and look at only one variable.

@kevinjones5560 no, it was with covid. Someone in their 90s with many health problems dying with covid is not a covid death. Early on, in May of 2020 around 42% of covid deaths were in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. According to a UCSF article from 2010 65% of nursing home patients die in a year. Those are people of high risk of death to begin with even before covid. So I am highly educated on this. Unlike you I actually follow science and know that in science there is never just one variable involved in a situation.

@MultiBlackmind in science there is always more than one variable involved. If you want to do actual science you will weigh out the deaths. For example, the Social Security office has what is called the Actuarial Life Table which gives the chance of living a year as a percent. Someone who is 90 years old has an 18% chance of dying in a year. So say you have someone who is 90 and died with covid during 2020, you weight that death down from 1 covid related death to 0.82. Then look at if they had other issues like cancer, diabetes, etc. Where someone who is 10 has a 0.012% chance of dying in a year. So if someone who is 10 died with covid you can weigh it down to 99.988 covid related death. You can also factor in things like a 2010 UCSF report stating that 65% of nursing home patients die in a year. So if they were in a nursing home to can weigh it that way. That is actual science and that would allow us to understand the virus better and approach the situation better such as who protect and not shutting down schools that ruined kids' education.

@uno1087 to start, you can't compared stats between nations. Every nation reported deaths differently. Many African nations did no lockdown and had a low death count. Next, I have yet to hear an answer here, what should have Trump done?

Who did the lockdowns? Mainly democrats. Who extended through the summer? Democrats. Republicans opened back up come May of 2020, democrats did not. That is not Trump's fault. He did all he could do as president. Him being the non fascist he is did not force states to shut down or open up.

Same in how he cannot send in the national guard to stop the BLM riots because governors and mayor refused. It is to prevent federal overreach. All the federal government can do is deal with foreign affairs and commerce between states. The rest is left up to the states. If Trump did a nation wide lockdowns you guys would be calling him a fascist. To you Trump could do nothing right. Just like he did a travel ban from China and he was called a racist.

That was not Trump's fault. He wanted states to reopen, but he had no authority to reopen them. It was up to the governors. Blame the democrat governors for keeping their states lockdown.

If Trump would have done something big federally, even if it was a federal lockdown, you would be calling him a fascist. Just admit it.

If you look at the deficit as percent of GDP it was less than 5%. Under Biden it is greater than 5% and under Obama's first three years it was greater than 5%. It only went down under Obama because republicans took over the house and pumped the breaks on spending. How did Trump lie about the deadliness of covid? After their meeting Xi said that Beijing will "reunify" Taiwan with China. I really feel is Biden wins in 2024 China will start a war with Taiwan. Xi is smart. He sees how weak and lost Biden is, he saw it first hand. He also sees how pathetic the US has become allowing people to celebrate LGBTQ topless on the white house lawn. Or how we named an obese man who thinks they are a woman an admiral. Or how our military numbers are down because no one wants to fight for a nation that has a president that disrespects dead soldiers and cares more about diversity hiring. If Biden wins 2024 we will literally see WWIII. Maybe at that point you guys will learn something. I doubt it.

Because covid was a set up to beat Trump. That is one. Next, those that did the fascist lockdowns has since swept covid underneath the rug to never talk about again. One of the worst parts about covid was that we now have real world data to look at to see what happens when we shut down schools, businesses, jobs, gyms, etc. so when an actual deadly virus hits we have a baseline to go off of. That is not being done because the whole point of covid was to beat Trump. To disrupt everything and then saying it was all Trump's fault.

Trump, in pure policy and the direction the US and world was going is the best candidate all around. The issue was is that he was a huge threat to the elites, the elites that try to divide us. So the elites simply called him names, called him a fascist and racist and there are enough mindless fools out there that believed them. That and the drama they created that people wanted to end. However, people are seeing how bad Biden is and there is a good chance they will put up with Trump's rhetoric and drama just so they can afford groceries again.

A big thing he is lying about is that a lot of blue states like CA do not report crime. Also, a lot of crime in red states are within certain circles like families. For example, Oklahoma leads the nation in domestic abuse. While bad, a husband abusing their wife does not make the streets more dangerous. It is an awful situation for the wife and family, but it does not make people less safe walking the streets. What does make people less safe walking the streets are muggings and stealing from businesses. That is the crime people really talk about when they say it is high in blue states.

He didn't win because democrats created mass chaos with the covid lies and lockdowns and the race riots by BLM. Add in censorship by social media and changing voting laws and increasing mail in ballots all led to many people voting for Biden hoping to end the chaos and drama . Well, here we are four years later and things are worse. There is a good chance Trump can win because people rather have the drama with a strong economy over the chaos and gaffes of Biden and a bad economy.

Take Charlottesville, he condemned white supremacy but said what was correct, there were fine people on both sides. There were bad people on both sides, but there were fine people as well. That is a uniting message of yes, people had different opinions, but they were not violent nor bad people. The elites twisted his words claiming he was calling white supremacist fine people. He was not. That is why the elites were so scared of Trump, he went after them and his approach in leading this nation was improving it for the people. Too bad people like you worship the liberal elites without question.
