Zero of the current legislatures voted for that law, it was passed in the 1800s. All the AZ SC did was say, correctly, that it is on the books so it has to be enforced. In November it will be put on the ballot if the law should be, at least, change. That means the issue of abortion will be left up to the people as opposed to politicians.

Trump has never been charged of an insurrection, let alone been found guilty 2. It says holds office, nothing about being on the ballot 3. It says congress shall decide, not states So please, learn facts and the law.

What the right supports is the Constitution in that abortion is not a right and thus is a state issue. At the state level the people decide. That is what is going to happen here. All the AZ SC did was say that a law currently on the books needs to be enforced. Thus, in November the issue will be placed on the ballot for the people to decide. For the time being people can still go to another state to get an abortion. While you can argue that is a challenge, an abortion is a challenge to begin with.

This is misinformation (as usual) by Pakman. The AZ did their job by ruling a law on the books has to be enforced. The left wants legislation from the bench which cannot happen. What is going to happen next is that abortion laws will be put on the ballot in November for the people to vote, which is the whole point of overturning Roe v Wade, leave the decision up to the people.

I do not want the UK system when they will let you die on what they consider to be "elective care". Holidays are arbitrary, also, in the UK do doctors get holidays off? If so, how can people get healthcare in the UK? You are literally contradicting yourself.

@sionandjess I did not say they will not treat them, what I said is they will have to wait a long time. In the US our prices are high for many reasons. One is that we do have a for profit healthcare system with many restrictions. But in the US, when it comes to advanced care we are the best. We have the shortest wait times and the best outcomes. Other nations have prices low because when it comes advanced care there is a long wait list. It is comparable to rent control. Yes, capping rent means lower rent prices for poor people, but the quality of the apartments/homes are terrible. And the access to high quality apartments/rent are limited. Now there is a debate on if we should be giving high quality of care to people at that part of their life, but in the US people have access to it with little to no wait times. As for your holiday days off, you are contradicting yourself. That is my point. You, on one side is saying people deserve access to healthcare. But then say workers deserve holidays off. Well, come those holidays what about healthcare workers? Do they not deserve holidays off? Why do they have to work? You are not answering my questions. So, do healthcare workers get holidays off or not? Is so, why? You said workers in the UK get holidays off, but why not healthcare workers? You are contradicting yourself. Point being, someone has to work, period. So before you criticize the US, or any nation, learn how life works before you make things up.

@BEVERLYRANDOLPH-lx4qu uh, poor people have trouble accessing abortion to begin with. If you are poor you are facing many other issues. Also, wouldn't it be better to vote in a president (Trump) to improve the economy as opposed to Biden who will do nothing about abortion in the end? A strong economy will mean the ability to go across state lines. Also, it will reduce unwanted pregnancies.

@lVideoWatcherl under Trump the economy was strong. That is why democrats had to shut it down in 2024 to barely beat Trump. In my life I have only seen restaurants openly say they are raising prices on their menus. That was under Obama and now under Biden. McDonalds just raised their prices. A salad restaurant in my city stated their raised their prices. Never saw that under Trump.

This law will get revoked eventually. What is said, though, is that many would rather vote for a bad economy and more illegals just so they can get an abortion when chances are they most likely get one to begin with.

@sassysaint3096 there are several reasons why states refused that funding. One big reason is that states already have programs set up that they know work well with less funding required as opposed to doing what the federal government demands with their archaic system. It is similar to if you run a business and it is going well, but then an investor comes in, gives you a bunch of money and demands to run the business differently which is less productive and actually ends up costing more money with less results.

We saw what happened when the federal government intervened in the 60s with the passage of the Community Mental Healthcare Act. It led to worst mental healthcare as the federal government could not manage it. Same when the federal government intervenes in education. You are grossly oversimplifying the complex by claiming they are refusing money. Do you think the money comes with no strings attached? Have you ever heard of the golden rule? it is those that has the gold makes the rules. If they would have accepted federal funds in that case they would have been at the mercy of the federal government. According to Child Trends, in 2021 Idaho had a maltreated rate for children of around 4 per 1000 where the US is around 8 per 1000. Seems like Idaho is doing fine on that issue. CA is around 6 per 1000.
