That is part of the problem. The left lost connection with the common, working American. People became sick of the liberal elites talking down to them and providing nothing. And the younger generation grew up with social media and knows how to handle it.

@hoellenotter people vote with their wallets. People saw that under Trump goods and services were cheaper. People could afford homes, pay their bills, etc. People saw their wages go up. That is simply the harsh reality. The OP is correct, abortion is not an issue because after Roe was overturned the number of abortions went up so there are really no restrictions on abortions. So people care about the economy.

You have it the complete opposite. The democrats have no achievements and no policies that actually help the people. They don't play by the rules. Look at what they did in 2020 with covid and BLM and the censorship on social media. The democrats created chaos to beat Trump. Problem is that enough powerful people like Elon have morals and pushed back and the people saw just how awful the democrats are leading to the 2024 results. With that said, I am still cautious about the left wondering what trick you have up your sleeve this time. The craziness that infected our nation is from the left. The left losing connections with the working class denying the bad economy, losing money in FEMA while giving billions to Ukraine in another endless war. Investing in an electric bus company that went bankrupt. Ignoring the illegal immigration crisis. Or saying men can become women and play in women's sports. Tim Walz talked about how weird Trump and the republicans are when people saw him and Harris as weird. Holding rallies with rich celebrities giving concerts and then giving the same speech over and over again while never talking to the media. The democrats need to become more moderate and understand what the people want. They voted for Biden in 2020 even though their lives were better under Trump because of the rhetoric of Trump and the chaos of 2020 (mainly created by the dems) and people felt we can get back to normal and things will be OK at least. But under Biden things got worse. So people voted for Trump knowing they can live with the rhetoric as it is better than the insanity of the left. Also, Trump toned down his rhetoric. Face it, the left has gone insane.
