@alexandredesmarais3848 prices go down all the time, it is common. That is what makes inflation such a challenge at times to monitor. Take a car. Cars today cost more than in the 50s in pure sticker price, but cars today are safer, last longer and get better gas mileage, all that saves money. Expansion of technology leads to lower prices but growth all around. And it is more than homeownership prices. I live in TX and car insurance is high. Why? Because we have a lot of illegals here driving without car insurance. So if you get in an accident with an illegal without car insurance it is coming out of your insurance. Under Trump's first term we saw labor participation rate grow where years prior it was falling. So where do you get this idea that there will be labor shortages? Again, we had a Trump presidency. We have the numbers. He is going to simply continue what he was doing already.
Obama's presidency was not good. That is why people voted for Trump. I am focused on more than homeownership rate. I looked at gas prices, wage growth and other metrics. Unemployment can be low but doesn't matter if wages are low. We can make unemployment be almost zero is we ban the tractor, is that the economic model we want?
Inflation did not happen worldwide. Japan had low inflation, so did France. Also, you can blame democrats for the unnecessary shut down of businesses. Biden's vaccine mandate also did not help leading to people retiring early and thus a labor shortage there. Seems like democrats messed up the economy that Trump has to fix. The infrastructure bill also produces nothing. Giving money to Proterra was not a success.
On the department of education, again, 90 to 92 percent of funding for public education is state and local. Most federal funding goes to Title I schools. State and local governments run public education. They set the standards, they set the funding. The federal department of education did not exist until the 70s. It should be removed with the funds being distributed back to the states. And again, states and local governments set the curriculum, not the federal department of education. Again, not to be rude, but you need to learn how these programs function before you have an opinion. That is why you have different school districts. In the city I live in you have several different school districts that are funded differently. There are different property tax rates depending on the suburb you live in and thus the school district you cover. They fund certain programs differently. They set standards that align with that state. Every state has different standards. The federal government basically has very little role in public education and needs to go.
As for Trump being a top 5, his first term was already arguably a top 10. I saw that list by so called historians. Several things. One, historians should know better that history teaches you to be humble. To not be so emotional. There is a historian that refuses to rank recent presidents because of that. Several presidents had history be more kind to them. Jimmy Carter was one, considered one of the worst but over time has rose in the rankings as people said he was a good person but a bad president. But promoting Volcker was a good choice in the long run. Also, that ranking had William Henry Harrison, how can you rank him? Along with that, what are those historians' credentials? Someone who is an expert in Roman history might not be the best to approach when it comes to presidential history.
" Economists have warned that his policies are inflationary and even if he makes the economy better, his incompetent cabinet picks, highly divisive rhetoric and rampant corruption are sure to cause plenty of trouble."'
What economists? Again, we already had a Trump presidency, things were great. So who are these economists? And how are his cabinet picks incompetent? How can you say that after Biden's cabinet? That was one of the worst cabinets ever. And what divisive rhetoric? The number one reason why I support Trump was that he pushed back against the divisive rhetoric of politicians, especially from the left. Sorry, but Harris called Trump supporters nazis. Biden called them garbage.
I ask this as no one has ever answered, but when has Trump ever ridiculed Clinton, Biden or Harris voters as a whole? Never. Clinton called Trump voters deplorables, Harris called then nazis, Biden called them a threat to democracy and garbage. Trump pushed back calling the elites like Harris dumb. Which is worse? Under Trump we are going to see the people unite. Many who were mislead by the elites that voted against Trump will see how great he is and ended up supporting him in the end adding to the fact that he will be a top 5 president of all time.
