Three of the picks are from Trump. And Trump can't remove members of the SC. That requires impeachment which requires Congress.

Actually most people have grew numb to the political attacks on Trump. The left can only cry "but Trump" so many times before people grow numb to it.

Trump claiming immunity does two things 1. It potentially ends the case 2. More importantly, it delays it. These indictments are simply political attacks on Trump to drag him through the mud to hurt his election chances. Well, Trump was smarter and found a way to delay it. Sorry, pick smarter prosecutors next time leftists.

They are doing this because a case like this has never occurred. The SC just can't ignore this. There is nothing corrupt about this. Jack Smith should have been smarter in pushing this in trying to use this case to hurt Trump in the election.

@joetheschmoe2 presidential immunity is about giving presidents flexibility to take actions if needed, especially in times of emergencies. It allows them to do their job. It is similar to what is in Article 1 Section 6 giving members of congress certain immunity during session. Or in another comparison, SC justices are chosen by the president and given lifetime appointments as opposed being chosen by the people.. It is because they have to make decisions that are, at times unpopular but correct. And it limits corruption. There is a form of punishment for these people. With the president and SC justices it is impeachment. With members of congress they can be removed via a vote in congress. So it isn't as if they are completely free from punishment. They are just in a different position then you and I. You and I don't make decisions that influences the lives of 10s of millions of people. Members of congress, the president and SC justices do.

@joetheschmoe2 what is the scope of the job as president? A part of it is to rally the American people. So when FDR rallied the people to dislike Japanese-Americans and incarcerated them in reaction of Pearl Harbor, was he in the wrong? Many have said he was in the wrong. However, at that time the American people did not like them, at least not the ones who are Japanese. A reason why Trump was elected is because many people are sick of how corrupt and divisive our federal government is along with our major institutions. Just like how people did not like the Japanese in the early 40s. You bring up tax fraud, the president is paid in a unique way compared to us. Trump said he would not receive any of the $400,000 a year he was supposed to be paid. So his taxes are different immediately. is it beyond the scope of his job in doing that? That is not really for you or I to decide. We have checks and balances in our system for that reason. If Biden were to have Trump executed then the House will impeach him and hopefully the Senate will remove him from office. If not, then you start going down the line of individual states seeing Biden as a threat and start taking actions with state militia. We have a checks and balance system in place. None of these people are completely free from immunity. There are forms of punishment on them. If Biden were to order the military to march into a state and start detaining citizens that would be a direct attack on that state causing that state, and many others to react. Also, you have the other issue of double jeopardy. With Jan 6th Trump was impeached and the Senate made their ruling. The fact that the senate ruled Trump did nothing wrong based on their standards, why should he be tried again? You talk about dangerous path, that is one.

@joetheschmoe2 to add on dangerous path, what the left is doing to Trump is dangerous. You have 1. Trump was already ruled via the Senate he did nothing wrong on Jan 6th, so why press charges? At what point do you stop? 2. Trying to remove him from ballots when he has never been convicted is dangerous. What will stop states from removing everyone from ballots? 3. The so call "fraud" case in NYC where there were no victims but a rogue judge ruled there was fraud forcing Trump to pay 100s of millions of dollars and not do business there 4. Pushing charges on Trump and classified documents but making the excuse Biden does not have to face trials because he is consider too old and not there mentally 5. Having some random woman claim sexual abuse decades ago being award 100s of millions and laughing about it 6. Having a DA pick her BF, with no felony trial experience, to be the attorney on a major case while paying him more than what other attorneys are paid. We are going down many dangerous path with the political attacks on Trump. The SC needs to step in and stop all of this. The one thing that is saving this country from completely falling apart is the SC. Thankfully, checks and balances are working......so far. But I give credit where credit is due, after covid I realize the left will have no boundaries to get what they want and they will come up with something creative, evil, but creative to win. When these legal attacks fail, i am interested to see what they do next.

Impeachment is the reason for immunity. Immunity is there because it gives the president to take actions when needed. The punishment if they go too far is impeachment.

@Bot202-n1t the punishment of a president is impeachment. What determines a "high crime and misdemeanor"? That is not defined in the Constitution. There is a process to determine if someone committed them. In the case of you and me it is due process via the legal system. With the president it is impeachment. No president is fully immune, there is a process to punish them. It is called impeachment. If one feels a president committed a high crime or misdemeanor then the House impeaches and the Senate convicts. With Trump the House impeached but the Senate did not convict. So cased closed.

Exactly. This shows how dumb the left is. They think they had a "gotcha" with Trump but they are ending up with nothing. In fact, these attacks on Trump by the left have become so extreme most people stopped caring.

They care about standards. A case like this has never been done before. So the SC needs to take it, hear arguments and set a standard.
