Yes. What bankruptcy does is ruin your credit history. Creditors cannot call you but your credit history gets destroy so good luck getting a loan.

It is a legit point. The demand is ridiculous and also violates his 1st amendment right. People have a right to free speech. He is playing the smart route of filing for bankruptcy to not pay this stupid amount.

@hansvandermeulen5515 no, that is free speech. You have the right to an opinion. People say lies about others all the time. Take Jacob Chansley as an example. The media was labeling him as an insurrectionist and as a rioter and he did jail time. Evidence came out that the police let him in, gave him a tour, and let him go. So should those who called him those false things be sued for defamation?

This is all political, that is why. No way was there $146 million in damages, if there were damages at all (defamation cases are always questionable). The people pushing this political stunt do not really care about the victims if the victims are not involved in the smearing of Rudy to begin with.

This shows how much Rudy and Trump actually care about the people. They are fighting for you and me. Instead you spit in his face and support the elites that only care about themselves. I can give many examples, but when Trump was in office he canceled all the correspondent dinners. Biden brought them back where they joked about inflation that is harming the American people.

Jon Gruden was called a racist despite no evidence and lost his head coaching job. Take Kyle Rittenhouse. He was called a racist and murderer by many members of the media and politicians. Should he sue? How about all the times that Trump was called a racist, a dictator, Hitler with no evidence? Should Trump sue? We can go on with this in many ways. Fact is Rudy had an opinion and stated it. He did not threaten anyone. He did not call for violence. We have a 1st amendment for a reason.

@77pearcearrow he claimed bankruptcy because no one has that much money on hand. As for paying his taxes, he is making and effort to which is why the IRS is not charging him for tax invasion. People get divorce all the time, that does not make them bad people. He was not defaming people, he was giving an opinion .Nothing illegal about that. Just like members of the media were giving their opinion about Trump and other politicians. Just recently the AG of Reagan released a statement that Jack Smith being placed in his current position is unconstitutional creating doubt in the legality of his indictments and is credibility. Is that defamation? Trump and Rudy are going after the elites that are going after people like you and me. That is why the elites fear Trump so much. He, and with the help of people like Rudy, are creating an uprising in the nation of people who are giving the elites the finger and no longer listening to them. And even if Trump and Rudy lose, the fact that so many people are fleeing states like CA and NY to states like TX and FL, free states, says something.

Bernie Sanders said republicans are dangerous and one of his supporters shot two at a baseball game. Should Bernie be charged with defamation? When Roe v Wade was overturned members of the left in the media and politics stated that the SC is taking away rights and a nation wide abortion ban will happen. Thus people harassed and threatened justices. Should that be defamation? Or on both sides of the political aisle. Politicians criticize their opponents all the time saying things that are not true. Politicians on both sides receive threats. Also, did what Rudy do really cause $146 million in damages? What was damaged? Did those "victims" lose their jobs? Their homes? Loved ones? And if they lost their jobs and homes, was it really worth $146 million? No. This is how dangerous the left is becoming.
