  3. The ruling was based on the fact that they would have served the gay couple, thus did not want to produce a cake for a gay wedding. The gay couple could have used any cake they wanted in one of their cases. They did not want to produce a cake with a message related to a gay wedding. So they were not discriminating against the gay couple.
