@rogermorris8737 it is not that simple. To start, a tax on the rich means they pass it on to the middle and lower class. So yes, a 10% increase on the tax on the rich means a 10% increase on the middle and lower class. People on the right have been, correctly, calling that for years. Or if there is no increase in prices, it would mean less investment, less jobs, less growth, etc.
On tariffs it is a trade tactic to get other nations to bring prices down or companies bring jobs back to the US. It worked out well in Trump's first term when we saw an increase in steel production in the US. Also, Trump, like he did in his first term, offset his tariffs then with income tax cuts and corporate tax cuts. So it is not a one shot thing. There is more to it. Fun fact, we used to be funding mainly on tariffs in the US as we had no federal income tax and we did fine.
Trump knows what he is doing. We had a term of him already and under him prices were lower, inflation was low, wage growth was high, etc. People could afford to pay bills and even homes as shown by the increase in homeownership rate of 5% which fell 6% 12 years prior before Trump. This idea he is going to harm the economy now or has no clue what he is doing is asinine. Heck, he had a Japanese company say they will invest $100 billion in the US. Investors have faith in the US economy now. The liberal elites don't but investors do.
