  4.  @DoctorBiobrain  no, in due process you have a jury of your peers. You have a plea offer. You have jury selection. You have both sides presenting and reviewing the evidence before hand. You have witnesses called and both sides asking questions. None of that was done in Colorado. "And government officials routinely enforce laws without trials" Minor laws such as speeding in which you still have to go to court at times. But in such laws like that you are not given even a misdemeanor. You are not giving a criminal record that can harm you later on in life. " Or maybe they’ll say a conviction is necessary in both cases even though that’s not in the Constitution" Sigh......again, section 1 of the 14th amendment. You need due process. You can't just let states go rogue on who they can choose to put on their ballots or not without due process. Without due process is unequal treatment of the law. Nowhere does it say you need evidence. So a state like Missouri can just remove Biden without evidence. That is your standard. To me, I do not want that chaos. I want justice and that is via due process. "But in no case can the Missouri guy throw Biden off the ballot because his state doesn’t allow it and he’s so dumb he didn’t know that?" Well same in ME but you claimed they could. And if you read the opinions of the CO supreme court, they wrote it on the idea that the US supreme court was going to take it anyways and either leave it up to them, or if they let it expire then Trump is back on the ballot. In the end, let the US supreme court to decide. Even they are admitting they do not know what is going on as this is uncharted waters. Should we let 50 states just go rogue here? My answer is no and I feel the US supreme court will say the same. In that you need a conviction in this case. Or Congress needs to decide. That he can be on the ballot and if he wins Congress can remove him as is listed in section 5. "Just like how you said Biden should be impeached for the border, but didn’t say what crime he committed. And that’s because he didn’t do anything wrong." Nowhere in the Constitution does it say a crime have to be committed. Congress can impeach someone because they feel they are simply doing a bad job. Just like Congress can override a veto.

  5.  @DoctorBiobrain  "Colorado and Maine aren’t taking Trump’s life, liberty, or property;" They are depriving him of liberty, the liberty to run on the ballot in the presidential primaries. He did not break any law, mainly Colorado or Maine law. If he broken a federal law he would be tried in a federal court which he has not. So yes, they are depriving him of liberty and they are not treating him equal in accordance to the law. ". And that’s the same as if a noncitizen tried to run for president and was denied." That is different. Being a citizen or not is an absolute. Same with age. Whether or not someone broke a law requires due process and is not a clear in many ways. "You just made up the part that they require a jury trial to remove him from the ballot. Convicting him of insurrection requires due process, not this. " Not true. On what legal grounds do they have to remove him from the ballot? What laws did he break, was charged with and found guilty of? Nothing. Especially Colorado law. If he committed an insurrection on the federal government that would be a federal situation and require a federal trial, something Colorado has no jurisdiction over. Thus, Colorado had no case here which is why there was no charge, not plea deal, no jury selection, etc. So he did not break any Colorado law, thus the courts of Colorado have no say in this. "I mean, I remember when they invented a new rule so Bush could win in 2000 and said it was just a one-time rule that wouldn’t apply again. " What new rules did they invent? Also, in the 2000 election Gore acted the same way Trump did as well in the 2020 election. They gave him his recount where it went to Bush. The election went on long enough. "You say we can’t have fifty states with their own laws, but that’s the system we have. You can thank the Founding Fathers for that. As a liberal in Texas, I’d love to have laws that protected our right to vote better but our system allows each state to make their own election laws. And in this case, Maine and Missouri have different laws. " I support state rights, but every state has to follow the Constitution. A big part of that is due process. Trump did not break any law in CO and ME and thus they have no charges on him nor any case on him. Therefore they can't just make a claim on him and deny him equal protection under the law. I feel that is going to be one thing ruling in Trump's favor. In that the CO judge gave an opinion that has no legal standing because it was not CO law they were discussing but a federal issue. "But the Constitution does say impeachment requires high crimes and misdemeanors. But you guys now think that means anything a Democrat does that you don’t like, which can be practically anything" But you don't need to be convicted of a crime. It is the House votes on it, and then 2/3 of the Senate confirms for removal. " Trump got impeached twice for crimes" What crimes? What was he convicted of? Nothing. So this comes back to you can say Biden committed a crime and that is all you need. Democrats said Trump committed crimes even though he was never found guilty of any but still impeached him. ". It’s so weird that people want this" Many people on the right don't. A big reason why so many voted for Trump was because they were sick of this game of political division. You impeach my guy, I will impeach yours, and back and forth. I hate that, I really do. But to me the political left has gone insane. For years with the left I have heard them say they are for the people. But here you go, you have Trump, who did not criticize Clinton or Biden supporters. He criticized Clinton and Biden and the liberal elites. Meanwhile, you have Clinton calling Trump voters a group of deplorables and Biden calling Trump voters a threat to democracy. Clinton and Biden attack the people creating division. Trump attacks the elites, mainly the liberal elites. But you are so stuck on team politics you call Trump a "criminal lunatic". This is what completely blows my mind in all of this. In the most recent elections you have Obama: Telling successful people, even small business owners that they did not build it Romney: Saying 47% of Americans do not pay federal taxes so he does not have to worry about them Clinton: Clinton calling Trump voters group of deplorables Biden: Calling Trump voters a threat to democracy Those are hard working Americans going about their lives being attacked by presidential candidates and presidents. Trump does not criticize the people. He does not criticize you if you voted for Biden or Clinton. He goes after Biden. He goes after the liberal elites. But not the people. Tell me, how can you not see that?
