The people who voted "leave" didn't do so for economic reasons and to mock and deride them for being fiscally ignorant is totally beside the point and belies exactly how little the swathes of middle class liberal snobs in our country are entirely detached from the concerns of the common man. For leave voters, blood and soil was more important than productivity and consumer price indexes. Waiting a few more days and paying a bit more shipping for that item on Amazon was not as concerning to them as a mosque opening up where there used to be a pub at the end of their street. Another thing that the class of people I'm talking about, who have a copy of the Guardian stuffed up their arses, can't get their heads around is that a pretty sizable number of non-white and immigrant British people voted leave too. The sort of superior, condescending patronisation that characterises the left. If you're wondering... I voted remain, but changed my mind afterwards for the above reasons. I hate this government as much as anyone (I'm a farmer), but being an MP is a job at the end of the day and having a 2nd home is not something they have choice about, it's a job requirement and therefore a job expense. Which includes the heating of that house. I think most people would expect their employer to pay for either their travel or accommodation if they were expected to work hundreds of miles from their regular office for weeks or months out of the year.
