  1. A second home is a business necessity, let's be fair when it's due. We all hate these people but none of us would expect to fund a second residence if it was essential to do our job. We'd all expect our employer to do it. Anyone who works away and stays in a hotel doesn't expect to pay for that themselves.

  3. I'm not so sure on this one. I hate this government as much as anyone (I'm a farmer), but being an MP is a job at the end of the day and having a 2nd home is not something they have choice about, it's a job requirement and therefore a job expense. Which includes the heating of that house. I think most people would expect their employer to pay for either their travel or accommodation if they were expected to work hundreds of miles from their regular office for weeks or months out of the year.
