  1. They do build but it's not close to enough. It's around 50k new builds per year last I checked. Immigration alone outstrips that supply by at least 10x.

  2. @jamesandrew1750 you can see his point when for decades it's been the expectation that you buy a house, stick a conservatory on it and sell it for £50k more a couple years later. Or live in it until you retire, at which point it's trebled or quadrupled in value. Perhaps now as predicted for a long time that bubble has burst. I'm a homeowner and I did my fair share of flipping years ago but now fortunately I own a house which is purely my home and not an investment
