@defendliberty1289 Don't get me wrong. I agree they should be returned. You asked the question of who destroyed other artifacts. They had always been in the parthenon until the bombing. I actually think we could make a show of it as a magnanimous gesture and celebrate a new era of friendship between Greece and the UK. Now wouldn't that just be a great way to piss off the EU ;)

@defendliberty1289 The acropolis was destroyed in the Greek/Ottoman war back in the 1700s and a lot of the artifacts within were ruined. Nobody seems to ever mention that.

Just flippin' give 'em back. I don't really care. I can think of several million other things I'd like to send back to the countries they came from too. Can we talk about that?

@@johnnyalucard9897 Good point. Endless acres of print and petabytes of internet data expended hand wringing about the theft of Greek items, but nobody cares about similarly looted British history. I commend you for pointing it out.
