It actually brings up an interesting point about a very ethinically homogenous country like Nigeria, where it would be a of interest to have a white European person attending your function. I for one would not take the slightest offence at being asked where I was from, in fact I'd consider it a perfectly reasonable question. I absolutely would not try and grift off fake offence after the fact - not that anyone in Nigeria would give a shit if I did.
