A man yesterday in the news was convicted of beheading his pregnant girlfriend. He was charged with murder AND THE KILLING OF AN UNBORN CHILD. So why is killing an unborn child a crime except when the mother does it?

In the western world this happens to no mother. She will be supported by the state, which arguably has hugely contributed to family breakdowns in the first place.

I mean I have only one argument about this issue. If I attack a pregnant woman and kill her unborn child - I go to jail for that killing. Square that circle for me.

@Lb-mn3ds It's very relevant. The woman has the right to absolve herself of the responsibility of parenthood by killing her child. However the man can't walk away from the financial burden of a child he doesn't want. Equal responsibility for the pregnancy, yes. But it seems the rights to family planning are very lopsided.
