  1. Unless European nations want to see this in our own streets one day, we better start making ourselves energy independent. Something we should have done decades ago. Instead we have been sucked into this cultish obsession with net zero - when all we're actually doing is outsourcing our pollution elsewhere. There's a video of Trump chastising a German minister for exactly this from about 5 years ago which oddly doesn't get much airtime in the mainstream. In fact it's probably the case that if we had not been reliant on Putin for so much of our gas, he would not have had anywhere near as much leverage over Europe as he has now and this most likely would not be happening. We could have sanctioned him and he would have had very little to come back on us with. As it stands now, he has literally threatened to shut the gas off and just sell to China or India who are remaining neutral, unless we buy in rubles and bolster his new gold standard economy. Unlike our leaders, Putin has the ability to think further forward than the next election media cycle. It's pathetic.

  2. Why do they care? Sanctions have been useless. Putin does not care, in fact he has probably been preparing exactly this for years. You know, that thing called long term planning...? Something that the useless cretins at the head of European nations are incapable of. He is now demanding oil sales in rubles and is building the Russian economy based on their own new gold standard, and they have been building their gold reserves quietly for decades. Meanwhile, over those same decades our pathetic leadership have gone to war on smaller defenseless nations to defend the fake money propped up by the US petrodollar, while systematically decommissioning most of our own power stations in order to give blood to the god of the net zero cult - only to find that now we are reliant on Russia for 40% of our gas - and also to find that our money is worth less than the paper it's printed on (most of it doesn't even exist in any physical form) to a nation who has the option of using another currency. Germany, even since this war began if you can even believe it, have decided to go ahead with plans to shut down their last 3 nuclear facilities. All while simultaneously and ceaselessly provoking the Russian bear by flaunting the agreement NATO once had with them to not encroach on their bordering buffer states. It's as though they are destroying our western countries and unleashing the unthreatened Russian bear onto the world on purpose. Yes, we, or at least western leaders, are responsible for all of this.
