  1. Here's a stat for you BBC. Of the 294 people executed in the USA in the last 10 years, 290 of them were men. That would make an interesting article don't you think?

  3. The answer is a fair few more. Having said that, we do seem to be on a downward trend generally. In contrast 2011 and 2012 were both 40+ per year.

  5. There have been 16 people executed in the US in 2020 under Trump. In 2016 there were 20 people executed under Obama. In 2015 there were 28 people executed under Obama.

  7. Who said he was rushing it through? There have been 16 executions this year, which is actually a record low. under Obama the average number was 30-40 per year.

  8. I do not agree with the death penalty any more than I trust the legal system. I have no principled moral objection to it, since I do agree that there are people on this earth who deserve to die, but it's unavoidable that innocents will fall foul of it now and then and this is not a price worth paying.
