At the end of the day, the fashion industry is a rather grotesque microcosm of the idea of beauty which exists the way it does mainly due to a group of gay men who seem to own so many of the major brands. The models tend to be thin, tall and bordering on the homogenous. It explains why if you ask the average straight guy on the street, he will not tell you that catwalk models are attractive.
