  1. What I hear in most places is that people don't want the jobs. Nobody can find staff. In other words welfare is more attractive than work.

  2.  @GhostHandGamer  That's human behavior for you I guess. A more realistic scenario is you offering to pay people $100 per day... let's say to lay bricks - but there are a lot of people who'd rather take $50 a day to sit at home playing XBox. I can't say I blame them much - I'm self employed and obviously earning a lot more than that. And I have no boss which is a godsend in itself never mind the pay. I'd have to be in pretty dire straits to take a soulless worker drone job for some corporation - I've been there and done that.
