ALL of us are prone. Racism is a fundamental aspect of human behaviour. Which is why forcing people from diametrically different cultures to live cheek by jowl and expecting never ending Kumbaya harmony is INSANE.

The self evident truth that cannot be spoken.

@ferrislindsay It's basic evolutionary psychology. Not least of all because our ancestors, on encountering a foreign population, ran the risk of very serious infections that they had no immunity to. This is why xenophobia and racism is often associated with feelings of disgust or that the "other" people carry disease. Pretty basic stuff.

@ferrislindsay Not sure what your first point is. EP is a fairly well established field of studies at most science focused universities, and I assume you start in the first semester with the basics? My degree is in computer science but the principle is the same. Yes of course there is little to no danger of catching a disease today from a foreigner. We're a global society. I'm talking about a primal instinct that goes back hundreds of thousands of years. In a similar way that men are attracted to women and vice versa (by and large). Both behaviours have evolved due to selective pressure. In general, any behaviour that we observe in humans today is likely to have been a selective advantage at some point during our development as a species, despite the fact that it may be a disadvantage in the modern age. And I'm sure you realise there is a difference between two individuals meeting and two entire tribes of people meeting - and the two things usually will have very different outcomes. I rather deal with the world as it is than as I wish it was.

You can no more stop different ethnicities of people from mixing happily (on mass) than you can stop women from falling for villainous chad scumbags and then complaining that all the good men have disappeared. It's one of the deepest most primal human instincts.
