I got the ban on my channel lifted the other day. Back in 2020 it was restricted because I was pointing out facts about the election. I'd sent tickets a few times since then and got nowhere, then randomly I sent one last week saying "come on guys, it's been 3 years" and they just lifted my ban. Really weird experience. Youtube is, at best, random.

It's one of the reasons I am always gaming about 3 or 4 years behind the current trend. I always wait until they are just about to release the next game in the series and the last game goes on sale in the GOTY or the "Ultimate" edition with every DLC ever released included for $13.

I'm not sure that the state throwing trillions of dollars at the population to sit on their arses doing nothing is much to do with capitalism. What's happened here is after more than a year of paid vacation the entire workforce has got demotivated and basically conditioned to a life of leisure. Capitalism has completely broken down.
22
End of the day if the government is paying you 12 bucks an hour for a life of leisure while the local restaurant is offering 15 bucks an hour... Well in reality they are basically offering you 3 bucks an hour to do that boring pointless job so I know which I'd choose.
19
I used to happily subscribe to premium. Then I got my account banned in 2020 for engaging in what I thought was free conversation about current political issues. They'll never have a penny from me again. Alt platforms have grown hugely since then, incidentally.
13
@utubepunk Sometimes the obvious truth only needs 40 IQ to point it out.
13
Too many publishers run their gaming products like casinos for children these days.
11
When they delete a tweet they are acknowledging they never said it. We have always been at war with Eurasia.
11
Like millions of other I got my account banned back in 2020 for engaging in open political debate. No abuse. No hate speech. No naughty words. Just plain up because I was pointing out facts favourable to one candidate and unfavourable to the other. And I was even a Premium subscriber at the time. They burned their bridge with me at that moment and I shall laugh as they disintegrate and let someone else take their place.

YT Guidelines: The guidelines are so vague and open to interpretation that we will basically do anything we like to your channel on either a whim or an error - so there may as well be no guidelines at all.

The anti hero.

"You will own nothing". This is the philosophy of consumer products of the future. It's not about making things obsolete. They are quite happy for that printer you bought to last 30 years, just as long as they can charge you an endless subscription to keep using it.
7
@joannleichliter4308 It would be absolutely possible to manufacture things in such a way that this was not the case. Modular designs so the least durable parts can be replaced. They could even sell the bloody parts to make ongoing revenue. If for no other reason than environmental conservation and reduction of waste/energy cost to make new ones - which at all other times we are told is basically the religion of most corporations.

I'm going to shout out one of my favourite games, No Man's Sky, because although you could call it a modern game and their disastrous release embodies everything we hate about the industry.... They have spent the last 8 years releasing update after update entirely for free and have actually turned it into a stunning product.
4
Go back even further sonny, once upon a time we paid our money and got a complete, working game that we owned forever. Yes, we lived in the golden times.
4
Well they still explain the product and the product is probably fine, but the young couple opening their new bank account now are always black lesbians so it kind of alienates me to be honest.
4
Men look for youth and fertility. Women look for status and provision. It's a tale as old as our species.
4
@BonzerMrT Receiving money to be off work. What would you call it?
3
YouTube have never really been about giving users control over what they watch. Even the simple ability to sort your subs alphabetically.... This isn't an oversight, they deprive you of that feature on purpose. They must have got a lot of complaints when they removed the "sort by oldest" button on the Videos tab, because you may have noticed that disappeared for a few months and came back again. It's such a useful feature, I see no reason to remove it in the first place.

I actively hate adverts. I literally refuse to even look at the screen until the skip button appears. And if I can't skip, I will refresh the page over and over until it's gone and I'd rather do that for 30 seconds than be subjected to the soulless woke subversive tripe they want to feed me. If an ad comes on for a product I respect then I will watch it, but that's extremely rare. I suspect I'm in a tiny minority who still have the freedom of mind to behave this way.
2
@bassmeo3937 Because we know that when a creator shows us an ad in their video, they are getting most if not all of the ad revenue for it.
2
Ah yes I remember playing Doom over my modem back in 1998 with 640x480 resolution and a ping of about two thousand.
2
The Alt-Right key also happens to be directly opposite to Left-Control
2
A lot of businesses are offering 2 or 3 times the normal salary to get workers. People got lazy in the pandemic. I felt it myself, I'm self employed and had maybe 4 months off - it was damn hard to get the motivation to go to work again.
2
Paying for the meal is like holding the door for a woman. It's courtesy. What's the problem? It's not about showing your wealth. It's about showing respect.
2
@nepdisc3722 Firstly I have never taken any woman out for a meal of any kind on a "get to know someone" first date. Coffee is a much better way to do that. Secondly, when the two of you do decide to take it to a second date, why does the meal need to be fancy? As I said in my comment, it's not about the amount of money, it's about paying the appropriate resect and tradition. I'm not wealthy at all - nor am I classist, I'm traditionalist.
2
The mayor wanted a Popeyes. It's probably as simple as that.
1
The sooner all these degenerates are replaced by AI the better.
1
Bloody Greg Secker. Sick of the sight of that prat.
1
I guess there are natural parallels between that and the way Apple run their business model.
1
If a corporation or government has the ability to shut your shit off, sooner or later they WILL use it for whatever reason they see fit.
1
Well I gues my lifetime loyalty is now to another brand.
1
I'd happily support Youtube by watching ads if they weren't all braindead, woke crap shoving diversity down my throat.
1
It's a low level swear word, like "Damn". Also you can say "He's a bugger", meaning he's just an awkward or otherwise objectionable person. And don't forget it's also the British term for the intimate relations via the back door if you get my drift. In the tradesman's entrance to use another British phrase.
1
6:02 This word is British slang word that can mean the intimate act of two homosexual men, or it can be used as a general expletive the in the same way as the F word, except most Brits will say that it's much lower severity. Kind of along the same lines as saying "Damn". Also it's the name given to the enemy alien race in the book Ender's Game unless ironically that's been edited out of it already.
1
It's no accident that those pills are blue.
1
Louis you should build yourself a MAME cabinet. If you haven't already.
1
It will all end up being owned by Google or Amazon though.
1
Honestly I have a couple of Lenovo monitors and they're pretty good. My main system though? Well, I haven't had a branded PC for 25 years as I build my own. I couldn't even tell you what name is on my mobo ot to be honest what CPU I have st the moment. It's AMD something that starts with an X. The thought of buying Dell or Lenovo pre built system loaded with junkware and superfluous clutter and a maintainence contract is simply offensive to me.
1
Alt Right is the establishment's Emmanuel Goldstein.
1
My favourite Louis videos are him ranting about the state of NY to be honest 😅
1
Yeah, plenty of controversies. Sim City released in 2013 you couldn't play single player mode without an internet connection and the servers were always down. It killed the franchise. Also you remember Don Mattick telling prospective XBox One buyers who didn't want to download all their games that they should stick with the 360?
1
Louis you can't just sweep a querer million years of human evolution under the rug. That's what this is about, not 21st century western-social values.
1
If you shove that e-meter up your ass Louis, expect to hear from my attorney because I have copyright on this application.
1
@BigSaleGolem It has lots of diversity though.
1
@chinmayghule8272 Yeah I was thinking of car or business insurance. I'm British... no need to teach me about the pros (and cons) of universal healthcare.
1
@lilithowl It isn't. It's just that men and women / mothers and fathers... tend to fit into their their natural roles. We're different, didn't you know?
1
They need roughly 50 customers per day all buying the deluxe $13 meal on the window, just to cover their rent.
1
There's nothing wrong with a free service using ads to stay free. It's just that YouTube are such censorious asshats and many of my preferred creators get demonwtised. In any case, the ads they serve me are usually subversive woke degeneracy. So to hell with 'em.
1
When I think about Tim Cook giving his sermon on racism and hate speech it makes me want to puke.
1
@rossmanngroup Run as a centrist, you'll get absolutely nowhere but at least you'll be able to say you tried and advocated actual unity.
1
It's been known for a long time that when you get "dominetised", YT still puts ads on your channel. The creator doesn't get paid that's all. It's the same BS we see everywhere that's all. Because YT is run by the same censorious Californian progressive milennials that most big tech is.
1
I think the gist of it is "Politician does something good, and that in and of itself seems suspicious."
1
But at least the city are hiring less white men now. It's got to be worth it all just to know you're helping to contribute to equity in the workforce.
1
Nothing screws you like a Deere.
1
I see the irony is as strong as ever in Apple cultists 😂
1
Prison sentences or they better have 15,000 national guard at Wall Street next week.
1
I've noticed that "digital" is coming to be used as a term for "online functionality that we control".
1
I watch for the rants. I see nothing wrong with that and I dont apologise for it 😏 Honestly it must be a small niche of people who have interest in board repair, but for those people I imagine it's incredibly useful info. So just keep doing what you do and I'll watch the videos that take my fancy 😁
1
@anon2427 I'm saying that's how they think, not us.
1
@anon2427 It's a George Orwell reference
1
"Alt-Right" and associated accusations (racist, nationalist, Trump supporter etc) have become nice cheap weapons to swing at anyone causing you inconvenience.
1
If they weren't such censorious turds, I'd be happy to put up with a few ads.
1
We tip in the UK too, but it's optional. We will generally only do it if we feel particularly good about the service we received
1
It's sadly also why YT doesn't notify me of his new videos.
1
@jasminecole8596 Well I'm afraid that evolution hasn't caught up to 23rd century society yet. Nature requires that a woman be capable of carrying, birthing and raising a healthy child and it requires that a man be capable of protecting and providing resources for her and her child. As such, the innate attraction between men and women reflect these things, which are selective pressures. If men had not selected young, fertile women, or women had not selected strong, competent men, our species would have gone extinct before it even started. This is not a moral judgement. It's a million years of evolution. Of course we have a complex social structure and it's for good reason we have standards that we adhere to around the age issue (the age of which differs between cultures I might add).
1
You missed the point, Louis. When she said a woman feels "unsafe", she is talking about the primal lizard brain emotions that women feel, but don't usually say, about men. It's the inverse of feeling "safe". She's using the word safe to mean protected.. cared for... provided for... All of which are the ultimate considerations for a woman choosing a lifetime mate.
1
@Zenith_Star69 Wait... did I miss something? Did the guy turn out to be an actual predator? I missed the part when she said that.
1
28:48 wtf happened with the sound?
1
I know this is a disgusting business move, but honestly I could give a crap if my car has heated seats. I don't know that I've ever needed or used such a thing in 25 years of driving.
1
This is how it is these days though, right? Some crazy loon attacks you and it's you that gets busted for defending yourself. Story after story with this case over and over. And god help you if your failed attacker is a left wing rioter.
1
Every farmer I have ever met, including my father, will repair EVERY piece of equipment he possibly can if he has the skill and facilities to do it.
