@gruffy4967 Yes... I was talking about the book. I was alluding to the fact that even in 1984... the book... the population of the country is still British. Tacitly making the point that our situation in some ways is worse than Orwell presaged.

@cliffhughes6010 To Quote from Nineteen Eighty Four "Airstrip One, for instance, had not been so called in those days: it had been called England or Britain, though London, he felt fairly certain, had always been called London." Aside from this, I'm not sure what the point is you're trying to prove.

@georgebodley8068 Britain could be split into 100 nations for all the difference that makes. My homeland is also called the "British Isles" and is a geographic area with it's own distinct ancestry. I did an Ancestry test years ago and wasn't surprised to find my genes date back to the Norman Invasion. 1000 years is good enough for me to consider myself ethnically indigenous to Britain.

This is the same reason as the lady with the tweet about burning the hotel. It's the same reason as Sam Melia getting an obscene sentence for putting up stickers that said "It's ok to be white". It's the state making an example of them. It's because these people all represent what the state is terrified of above all else; the British people waking up, becoming ethnically aware and realising the existential threat they are under.
