  1. In my country (the UK), policies in all sorts of critical areas have been nothing short of moronic for many years... And this has ramped up considerably over just the last 6 months. We really have been ruled by a mixture of idiots and malignant activists for most of my life.

  2. We should be thankful the Russian economy is doing okay because I can imagine them being far more dangerous and hawkish if it wasn't. That's generally how things go in most countries.
