  1. Germany and several NATO allies want to better protect important cables and wires in the Baltic Sea. The background is suspected acts of sabotage by the so-called Russian shadow fleet. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the heads of state and government of NATO countries will meet around the Baltic Sea for a summit in Helsinki to discuss measures to secure infrastructure. The meeting will be hosted by Finland's President Alexander Stubb and Estonia's Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
