  2. I know, when they would tell me growing up I thought it was just to scare me, and when we got internet I looked into it and wondered why are all so similar? Even Giant men similar storys freaked me out.

  3. My uncles always told me the storys at camp about how the little people are mischievous, strong, fast, and not to be messed with, also don't take anything from them unless you have fair trade even if your life depends on it out there, you'll never be found or will find your way home.

  5.  @kevingarcia8922  I have a book called "the lore of st Lawrence Island" that I took from the old school before they tore it down, I wish I had pt2 there are lots of interesting stories in it.

  6.  @GenaF  I've heard of different species of them, some that hunt with spears, bows, wear clothing made of animals, some that are just hairy, some that are just evil, some that want to be left alone, some with red glowing eyes, some with blue glowing eyes, I've heard many different stories of them.

  12. Man I was always interested in my grandparents storys and elders, I chose to live with my grandparents till I was 13 years old, its not that my parents are bad they are great parents.

We have diversity, my dad is half white from Oregon, my mom is Native with some Russian/Asian blood, My Son is Black/Yupik, a lot of us are told who we can't date growing up and pretty sure we used to have arranged marriage until 1930? Somewhere there maybe further, and a lot of us get outsider partners some black, some again, some white, some russian, ect.

  15. Yes they landed in Gambell, the other village on our island, they didn't speak yupik and the only English they said was "Putin Bad, Putin Bad"

  20. No growing up were told who not to date, and I think we had arranged marriages until the 1930s-40s?, some have white, black, asian, russian, spanish, ect. husbands/wives, also sometimes the teachers that come here get married 😆.

We get funding to build housing at times, fix the roads, repair housing, store jobs, clinic, substitute at school, we even work for eachother sometimes, we bury our dead how you guys do now, back then I was told we were buried with all our gear to hunt in the next world, cargo planes and passenger planes come in we even have some stuff barged in.

  26.  @WaaDoku  yes I was told there was a time when we worked together, and they said the world is changing and new people are coming they have to hide, thats what I was told anyway, I also heard they hid cause people are too greedy and violent when they don't get what they want, I've heard different storys.

  30. Thats Elaine shes an amazing story teller, she was my teacher in yupik class, she has real good humor, loves to laugh, joke around, and tease lol, I love when they talk about history.
