Pointless, fed is just raising rates to lower them in the future at this point. We raised rates how much in last 9 months? And inflation went from 4% to 6% to 8%. Seems like raising rates isn't doing much for inflation, is it?

Inflation expectations is already dumping. Even without rate hikes, i don't see inflation expectations rising as we stagflate. People equate slowdown with recessions. Not stagflation. So I'm not worried about inflation expectations. Not sure why Fed would be anymore. And inflation expectations is the only thing Fed seems to have power controlling. Not actual inflation.

Why even hike at this point? Either we stagflate for the foreseeable future or we crash. Higher rates, is not going to affect people as much, not when everyone already bought homes, bought cars, remortgage already. So what is raising hikes exactly accomplishing anymore? I thought hikes would slow inflation. But it's not.

Tell me oh consumers. How is a rate hike going to affect your spending habits? Little if at all. You already bought your home. Car, 2nd mortgage, boat and car payments. All locked in. So how is higher rates going to slow you down?

Nobody knows how to slow inflation. You could crash the markets, pop asset bubbles like bitcoin. But Fed is too scared to go hard.
