After talking to Mom, the officer asks " is your car still running?" No, dimwit, you told him to turn it off, AFTER you asked to see his hands. This officer is clueless, and cannot remember what he has said, or what has happened.

Yes, here's a young man who must be accustomed to levels of pain as a football player. Even when alone in the patrol car, he's complaining that the cuffs hurt. Absolutely sadistic to make Sam continue to suffer, despite his polite & compliant demeanor. The officer is a cruel SOB.

@charlesaderholt9906 Oh yes! Googled FOA, which can refer to restaurants, or have the intended profane meaning. Recently learned SMH = Shaking My Head! Very useful for expressing irony, or world-weariness, etc. As a senior citizen, I SMH often, when viewing YT. We have such a small stmt/reply area, here, so the acronyms are actually useful, even if we older folks have to discover the meanings.

@kalipw0210 It would be interesting to see a typical pre-psych evaluation test. I suspect it tests for DSM levels of instability. On a multiple-choice test, it may be easy to choose the socially acceptable answer. Future technology may provide AI that tracks eye movement, & compares with answers chosen, to detect discrepancies.

@GrimnirTheWhite we have a number of highly publicized cases, in which "almosts" didn't work, and people were killed, despite their absolute compliance.

@dankmusicswag9192 well, if someone is terrified or intoxicated, they may not be totally logical. Same problem if a person has mental disabilities, is hearing impaired, or if they are having a mental health crisis. None of the above warrants being summarily executed. Intentionally (or irresponsibly) confusing someone with conflicting orders seems to give an excuse for LEO to open fire. "Sorry" doesn't bring them back to life.

"Show your hands..turn the vehicle off". I guess Sam was supposed to do this with magical forces. The entire "hand instructions/directions" were absolutely confusing. Then we have " feet together" & Sam complied. Now, "I will taze you, if you don't follow instructions, feet apart". Did this bozo practice shouting/delivering conflicting instructions? The officer wouldn't have a second career as a dance teacher. Then, the officer allows him to be in pain from the handcuffs. When Sam noticed that the jail is in the middle of nowhere, you can see the fear on his face. The officer says "we could give people a painful ride with the seatbelt" and then declared that the people at the jail won't give him a hard time. Ha ha ha...What a sadistic person.

Sam seemed pretty worried, as he saw that he was being driven to a dark, out of the way area. He lives in the South, and knows the stories. The look of trepidation on his innocent and honest face made me feel angry and sick

@GrimnirTheWhite If I watch from another's perspective, then my view is subjective, not objective. Objective weighs both perspectives, not just one. Hence, court cases. "Most of the publicized shootings" is still a subjective opinion, and a generalization. I think that you and I should "agree to disagree". I do thank you for the civil conversation, & especially for the assurances regarding my safety, that was very kind!

What is a punk, amongst the number of current meanings? But an ability to "get dates" as an indication of future behavior? Some HS guys weren't popular because...take your pick:::they had acne: they were chubby: they made good grades: they didn't play sports: they didn't drive nice cars: they wore glasses : their parent was a minister or a teacher. College & After was the great leveler, when they outgrew some non-datable things, and others became unimportant. A number of men who probably "didn't have to buy dates in high school" have committed terrible crimes. Chris Watts and Scott Peterson, good-looking guys. I truly dislike this trooper, and find his actions reprehensible. But plenty of good decent men and women "couldn't buy a date" in the bizarre crucible of high school. Doesn't mean they grow up to be power-hungry, abusive adults.

@joesmo113 Thanks, afraid I was going get "haters", & may yet. HS popularity is not an indication of adult character. I am appalled by the trooper, to say the least (and I said much more in other threads here). But to state that he "couldn't buy a date" is an affront to so many, including you. In my "prom" yrs, in the 70s, in a small rural area, no one mentioned what we refer to now as LGBTQ students, much less take a same-sex person to prom. And unpopular, un-beautiful kids had problems too! I'm troubled by "couldn't buy a date" as a cheap put-down, judging one's sexual attractiveness in HS, of all times! Now we have 3.8K liking this caliber of comment? SMH. Greatest respect for going to your prom anyway. Thanks for your reply, you have my best wishes!

This is part of what got the officer fired. His comments about how he could use the seatbelt to cause pain & discomfort did not go over well with his supervisors. How would he know, this unless he had done it before. Confession caught on dash cam. Brazen.....

@mattdunkley130 I seem to remember, at some point (in US), going 15 mph over the limit was an automatic license suspension. I've been on interstate hwys where it was unsafe to drive at the posted limit, because I would get run over. I'd drive 10mph over, & get passed, like I was a turtle.

@panagiotisgeorgilis4766 In @ 2005, I had very polite & very young Deputy give me & my newly purchased "gas can" & gas, a ride back to my car. He was obviously chagrined to tell me that I had to sit in back, "because there's no room". The front area was blocked by a purpose built tray, with a large laptop type computer and other gizmos. It wouldn't even fit a child. (Nowadays, it appears that things are more "built in" to the console.) At my car, he had a moment of panic, because "we didn't have a funnel". I showed him that if we unscrewed the "other cap" on the can and reversed it, voila! a proper spout to fill the tank! I was old enough to be his mom, but still, I was surprised that a young man, in a rural area, wouldn't know this! Afterwards, I grabbed my container of hand wipes, presented him with several, & advised him to wash his hands, so he wouldn't smell like gas for several more hours. He accepted with thanks, and did so. Just a nice LEO/Deputy, doing his job of getting my car moved...by helping me. No fuss, no attitude. So discouraging that others aren't like him.
