  3.  @sanniepstein4835  No. The Federal Reserve saw an impending crash about the happen and increased interest rates to put the brakes on. At the time people were investing 10 times the mortgage on their homes, and the subsequent losses were catastrophic. Increasing rates meant people invested less, and markets slowed, allowing for a smaller crash. The only way you could possibly argue that this was the Fed's fault is if you believe the stock market quadrupling in 9 years is a sustainable growth rate, and would continue infinitely.

  8.  @charlie-qh2ll  Nonsense. The New Deal lifted the US out of the depression. What's funny is WW2 policies were even more government spending, meaning you are arguing that the New Deal didn't go far enough and we should have spent far more aggressively, which modern day economists agree with.

Social security, unemployment insurance, disability benefits, and of course the 1933 Banking Act, which was in place all the way until it was watered down under Bush Jr...right before the housing crash. And again, military spending is government spending. You are arguing government spending ended the great depression.

So you agree the 90s housing crisis was caused when the government relaxed market controls and allowed businesses to have more freedoms? Sounds a lot like the 1920s to me.
