This is explained twice in this very interview. Andrew is also famously right-wing, even leaving the BBC to join the UK equivalent of OANN.

  15.  @reluctantenthusiast  He's not a narrow-minded bully, he is presenting an opposing viewpoint to Ben's own ideas. He is using a Devil's Advocate approach to push Ben to answer even his strongest critiques. If Ben had an ounce of sense he could very easily answer the questions given. These aren't loaded questions, they're just biased from an opposing view, with is simple enough to counter with a bit of sense. Maybe try telling Ben to respond with a fundamental and primary point rather than attacking the interviewer, avoiding the questions and not realising that the entire interview was taking things he has said in his book and using them as examples of his position. In fact the worse thing Ben does is whine about old comments he made being dredged up, then immediately defends the viewpoints used for those comments, as if he's angry that he views have been made public, not that the view itself was one he used to hold.

  18. How was he not revealing new truth? Ben's book claims that political discourse is a problem in America, Andrew showed that Ben's own actions may be a big part of that problem, Ben ran with his tail between his legs. The new truth that Ben is a massive hypocrite seems pretty revealing to me.

Andrew was taking stuff from Ben's book and either offering a direct counter to it so that Ben could respond, or pointing out the hypocrisy of it. Giving people a chance to their harshest criticisms is not a gotcha question. Pointing out how the book you just wrote and are here to promote directly contradicts your own actions is not a gotcha question either.

He also didn't ignore the answer, he got an answer and moved on. He also uploaded them to his news network, The Daily Wire. more "gotcha tactics" "arent you part of the problem, not part of the solution?" "arent you part of that anger" Those are just questions. He tried to answer these questions by stating that he is open to debate, but when shown blatant examples of him NOT being part of the solution, and very much being part of the problem, he throws a fit and leaves the interview. This isn't gotcha questions, this is good journalism showing that Ben likes to throw stones from his glass house. But sure, keep calling Andrew Neil, the climate change denying conservative that left the BBC to join the new right-wing news network GB News, a bias left-winger. See where that gets you. Meanwhile Ben apologised for this interview and openly stated that Andrew won.

Andrew Neil called them "extreme hard policies" and "a return to the dark ages", and Ben started by attacking Neil, then misquoting his as calling policies barbaric, then failed to understand how interviews work.

  49. He isn't, but this interview is not the reason for that. He actually left to join Sky, then went to some Alex Jones style right wing media crew. Then he realised they're complete nutcases. Regardless, this interview was good from his side.
