This is on top of the stuff I mentioned. His policies were a disaster all round and did nothing but put us in debt and make us completely unprepared for the pandemic.

The technology in the mRNA vaccines is far safer than traditional vaccines. The drugs you are referring to are not cures, they are to stop people dying and nothing else. They don't stop the spread or the mutation of the virus, and instead deal directly with symptoms. That would be like calling cold medicine a cure for the common cold.

  11.  @robgiles5228  No. It's just a matter of statistics. Most patients are over 60. Most over 60s are vaccinated. A higher proportion of the unvaccinated over 60s are being admitted, but a higher number of vaccinated over 60s are being admitted. Deaths are still mostly unvaccinated.

  31. @Kelly Smith Not really. Only about 10% of the country caught it and the death rate is around 2%, meaning only 1 in 500 Americans have died from covid. The chances of you actually knowing someone who died from it is low, even lower when your family and friend circles tend to be lower in age. The idea that because you personally don't know someone who died from it is irrelevant. I know plenty of people who caught it and someone who actually did die, so just stop.

By dropping liability the US government is trying to stop the vaccine manufacturers from being discouraged. They are worried that actively hindering a vaccine will only increase the people dying from the disease the vaccine was supposed to protect them from. They then have an active fund in place to pay for damages caused by said vaccines.

  47. It's getting approved because Pfizer applied for approval. They could have done this sooner but they were a bit preoccupied at the time. The efficacy of the vaccine is only how well it stops people getting infected at all, it says nothing for how well it helps people fight the infection if they do get exposed to covid. There is a reason almost all the deaths from covid are unvaccinated people. More unvaccinated people died from covid last week than vaccinated people have died from covid since the start of the pandemic.
