  1.  MEXICAN INVASION  For starters, gas prices were higher this time last year, just before the pandemic. As people stopped driving nearly as much gas prices plummeted, with global oil prices becoming negative for a short time. Since before the vaccines even started rolling out gas prices have been increasing since late November, and oil prices which have only gone up since late October. The vaccine numbers accellerated this. The idea that Keystone, a pipeline that was going to export oil, would drop prices is just ridiculous. If anything it would only increase prices as local demand would more closely match supply as surplus is piped out to Canada. Keystone would only have increased gas prices with our current levels of production and usage. Not that it matters as Keystone wasn't going to be finished for 2 years.
