We certainly have some work to do to be more democratic, but we're far closer to being a democracy than the opposite.

How does our constitutional republic decide who represents us?

So you don't vote?

And a democracy.

@josepheclesopasno6051 Lol, read your own definition.

@josepheclesopasno6051 Here, let me help you with that: Definition 1b: "A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them" - This is voting. Around 67% of US residents can vote. "directly or indirectly through a system of representation" We do this indirectly through a system of representation by voting in senators, representatives and the president, as well as governors, state senators, hell even sheriffs. "usually involving periodically held" Literally all of the positions we vote on are periodic. "free elections." We have those too. So according to your own definition, the US is a democracy. Your comment about supreme power not being vested in the people seems to completely ignore how voting works. Your idea that the President is a supreme power literally ignores the constitution AND the fact that they are voted in. You literally posted the definition of democracy, just to prove you have no idea what you're talking about.

Being a republic doesn't mean you can't also be a democracy.

How exactly does a constitutional republic decide who is in charge. Does the constitution say that completely random people are elected into government offices?
