  1. It's not an allocation of any money though. They are cancelling debt owed to the Department of Education. It doesn't require any borrowing to do.

  3. Pell grants only cover a small portion of tuition fees. The $20K is for the loan between the grants and the fee totals.

  4. The forgiveness isn't for the Pell Grant, but Pell Grant recipients who also took out student loans.

  5.  @r32guy10  Homeless people are bussed to these cities, they don't operate in vacuums. Rent Control only causes housing shortages because it keeps housing affordable and reduces the number of houses on the market, because people DON'T become homeless. Rent control has nothing to do with new construction, and every city, county and state in this nation should be making cheap affordable housing en masse, but the US is so embroiled in the suburban housing structure that it's impossible for many to find anything. Also weird you attack blue states when the states with all the worst stats are red.

  14. Pell grant recipients take out loans on top of their grants to cover their full tuition costs. Pell grants never cover the full cost.
