@blissfairchild7194 Facts? He thinks 3% of 50K is 6K. It's not, it's 1.5K. He also doesn't understand what a standard deduction is. Someone single this year will have a 12.55K chunk of non-taxable income. After that a single person earning 50K would see a tax increase of only 1.1K. A couple filing together would have an even lower increase of just $750. This would also not effect families earning so little and would fund new stimulus checks. Given the deficit is also at 4.56T I don't think raising taxes is all that bad of an idea. What they really need to do is increase the taxes on high earners and large corporations. Most of the top earners pay lower tax rates that average Americans. This sort of a loophole needs closed.

@raptorman48 Forced into the deal by senate republicans. They're voting on more stimulus money next week.

To stop the region from breaking out into war or becoming economically worse. If you develop the Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala regions then they will be less likely to emigrate to the US. He's lowering illegal immigration numbers at the source by keeping the region standing and our of war. I would rather we build school now than build prisons later.

@Dr_Alan_Grant Every time I turn around these numbers seem to get higher. Can you make your mind up already? Keystone was 11,000 temporary jobs, and as the pipeline hasn't been started yet nobody was fired. It was only going to create 35 permanent jobs. Not sure what Texas jobs you are on about. Do you mean the ones from last year when oil prices went negative?

@snowman374th "Prove he's not" That's not how standard of proof works. You have to prove he is, not the other way around. "Do you think poor people with a tax breaks are gonna create big business to supply American people jobs in the thousands?" No, I think poor people with tax breaks are going to spend more and stimulate the economy, which will help businesses grow, which will create jobs. Trickledown economics has shown to be a failure for decades. Large businesses are far more likely to horde money than create jobs. "Maybe you'd rather they be raised higher, so the cost of living will cost you more." If they raise taxes on those who can easily afford it and offer programs that help those without means to get by more easily and earn more then what's the issue? Not sure why you think cost of living would go up for the poorest American's though as those at the bottom don't even pay taxes. What difference would a tax increase make to them? "Maybe you don't like your freedom to save your money now and start a business. Can't do it broke, with no job, and nobody bailing you out." How about we make healthcare more affordable so that those starting their own businesses can afford to start a business without having to choose between their health and their new business. Even better, why not add UBI onto that so people get a nice startup bit of cash to start their own businesses. "maybe you're on the wrong side and don't see it yet. You hide your face for the obviously reasoning. To be hidden because you're a child. Or because you're afraid to be identified." You're profile picture is an upside-down flag. Both un-American and hiding at the same time.

It's literally the opposite. He is offering to develop Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala to try and reduce the number of immigrant caravans. This idea of building infrastructure to try and increase public wellbeing and reduce poverty is a way to save money in the long run. It's an investment.

True. Republican's have a nasty habit of spending like crazy. Democrats really need to start curtailing that spend before we end up in another Republican market crash.

@snowman374th Looks like we have a BDS sufferer here.

Mitchell Edgecomb "powerful drug traders" Do you have any idea where the money is going? Even which countries would be a good start. "China's economy is blowing up" It's really not. They have been seeing slower and slower growth over the years as they get a larger middle class and the money is making it to the people more and more. Not that it matters as their population is 4 times ours, so surpassing us wouldn't really be a big surprise. Currently their per capital gdp is less that a 5th of ours. "Surpass us because of socialist Biden" Wait, I thought China was socialist? Does that mean we're not socialist enough and that's why China is surpassing us? Here's a novel idea. How about we invest in people rather than sending every dollar to the top, then we'll see gdp growth. Those in the poorest segments of the country spend every dollar you give them because they have no choice. Policies like a $15 minimum wage would increase tax revenues and spending, while reducing the need for government assistance, pushing the economy upwards. Funny how the corruption loving treasonous Republicans forget that.
