@fakeorchestra4260 He glosses over them because it didn't fit his narrative. Calling it a union is a joke because it can't do anything a union can do, making it by defintion not a union. Hitler destroyed the unions.

He didn't collaborate with trade unions, he gutted them.

While Stalin was personally a socialist, he failed to enact said socialism in the USSR.

It's neither.

@Notdjsbjj corporatism

@Notdjsbjj It is collectivist, but there is nothing socialised about it. It is a heavily restricted private market, not socialism. The primary terms used to describe it are "state capitalism" and "crony capitalism".

@Notdjsbjj No, it's to control the economy, and the businesses within it. The State is only an organic representative of the Will of the people in a democracy. Either that or you are trying to claim that monarchies are organic representatives of the Will of the people. That sure worked for France, and Britain, and Russia..... It's only naturally socialised in a democracy. Socialism is indeed social ownership of the means of production, but you can't have social ownership though the State without democracy. Marxism is literally a utopian socialist system.

@Notdjsbjj Yeah, that's total bollocks. The state can absolutely take absolute control of everything, but that doesn't suddenly make them the Will of the people. You have to actually know what their Will is first. "I don't think totalitarian theory is in conflict with socialization; if all companies are brought within the purview of the State, and if that State is comprised of all within it, it's fair to argue that's socialization." Socialisation is literally organization of an industry or company according to the principles of socialism. If socialism comprises of, as one would imagine given the name, social control over things, then you absolutely cannot call totalitarianism a form of socialisation. Socialisation requires an accurate Will of the people, not some presumed Will that is assumed through control of everything.

Actually the point is that once those countries stopped unions from having collective bargaining and removed democracy, they created a political system that was no longer socialism.
