@colindavis1496 Piss off Colin. Russia has been planning their invasion of Ukraine for years.

@acetorres8787 306 isn't barely a win, he had states to spare. He also won the popular vote.

Ryan Boehm Europe always bought oil from Russia.

@acetorres8787 So you're saying Trump barely won in 2016. Also, of course the popular vote matters. Making sure the person who won is actually the person who deserves it is viral for measuring the fortitude of American democracy.

@acetorres8787 Of course it matters. How else could people possibly see that democracy is failing in the US? That the two party system is a joke unto itself. It's a constant reminder of the failings of the US government.

@acetorres8787 I think the entire election structure would need remodeled, but yes I do. For example, a president based entirely on popular vote could have a completely open voting system with as many parties as you want, shrinking to the final 2 for the last vote. The house of representatives could be modeled around the percentage of the vote, meaning every vote counts, and they all go towards a potential number of reps. You vote for a party, and that party will be given a number of reps. More party members means people would feel more able to join different parties, allowing the senate to be more diverse. Sanders is the tip of the iceberg. You can't honestly believe that the general public are either red or blue with absolutely zero in between or variability? What we have now is a blatantly corrupt system that favors never changing anything. Why do you think the US is so far behind the times?
1
@acetorres8787 Because it gives the people a voice. It stops Republicans in California and Democrats in Alabama being ignored. Every vote will count, and will count equally.

@acetorres8787 I guess that's why these proportional representation democracies don't work in other countries....oh wait. Do you voluntarily suck down the propaganda, or do they have to force-feed you?
1
@acetorres8787 That must be why the US is not considered as democratic as 15 European countries, and is considered a flawed democracy. Please read how real democracies work.

@I_dont_read_responses When it comes to Russia, I think everyone needs a bit of a refresher. Or do you want me to post the dozens of news stories of political opponents being arrested, slandered and murdered, along with blatant ballot stuffing and obscuring ballot boxes with things like balloons away from camera view. Putin doesn't get voted in, he gets installed there by his own people.

@acetorres8787 Instead of waving your degree around try thinking for yourself. Look, I appreciate it, you're a realist rather than an idealist, but how about putting a little thought into how you want this country to work rather than how it does work. Your current outlook is both pessimistic and not conducive to actually making real change. So take a step back, have a think about what kind of a political system you actually want to see, and come to your own conclusions, rather than relying what seems to be a very flawed education.

@I_dont_read_responses I'm sure you would, but when your entire worldview relies on anything that is not Russian being bias, you're just left with Russian state media. May as well rely on North Korea to tell you how corrupt North Korea is. Putin cheats in elections. There's video.

@I_dont_read_responses Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty has a great article titled "Russian Social Media Swamped With Video Evidence Of Ballot-Box Stuffing" with plenty of videos for you to enjoy. Since they are videos you don't need to worry about bias, they are direct first hand accounts. Enjoy.
