  1.  @Rushinator1  Neither MD or DC want that. In the last 220 years they have formed their own voices and trying to combine them is a fools errand. You may as well argue half the states shouldn't have been formed because they should just become part of existing states. Who cares if it's a city state? They have more than enough people and more than enough GDP to be a perfectly functioning state. There will also still be a neutral ground in the capitol buildings.

  5.  @djjones5715  No it wouldn't. The bill redefines the size of DC, removing the city from the district and shifting it to only the capitol buildings. There is no minimum size listed in the constitution, only a maximum.

  6.  @Rushinator1  MD doesn't want it. DC doesn't want MD. Who cares if it's a city state, it has more people than Wyoming and a higher GDP than 16 other states.
